Financial information can be a foreign language to many of us. Even those of us who have some financial background may not stop to consider how others are interpreting the very same financial information generated by our businesses everyday. Understanding financial information, and financial metrics, can be invaluable in accessing how a company is currently performing and potentially where it’s headed. Furthermore, understanding a company’s current financial performance can offer opportunities to strategize for growth, re-direct efforts to strengthen lagging performance, or simply identify successes to further build upon. This presentation will touch on these issues as well as providing an overview to understanding financial statements and measurements, knowing what users of financial information (bankers, business associates) are looking for, and steps that can be taken to strengthen a company’s financial position.
